Life at Wilshire Presbyterian Church  
Wilshire offers a variety of ways to get involved in the life of the church and become part of our caring faith family.

New Membership Class

Twice a year a New Membership Class is led by the pastor. If you are interested in knowing more about our Christian faith, our church, and our mission we encourage you to attend. Check the Calendar for upcoming dates.

Wednesday night Bible Study
We meet every Wednesday night at 7pm in the Library to study the Bible and explore our faith on a deeper level. Any one is welcome to join us, no preparation necessary, you can just show up.

Children and Youth Activities
Children and Youth Activities happen throughout the year at various times. From camping to bowling, Bible studies to service projects, participating and leading in worship, from Vacation Bible School to Easter Egg Hunts, the young people and children are valued and embraced at Wilshire Presbyterian church. Trips and Outings
Other events such as regular Congregational Trips and Outings are some of the ways we socialize. Make new friends and enjoy new areas of Southern California. Sign up lists are in the narthex. See Calendar for upcoming events.  

Prayer Chain

Wilshire Presbyterian church is part of a larger neighborhood, and we desire to be connected to the community around us. By entering into partnerships with local organizations and providing services to our neighbors, WPC hopes to fulfill its mission to be a beacon of acceptance, loving community and hope to the surrounding neighborhoods.

Community Center
Our Community Center is located at Oxford Ave. and Third Street, and serves as a meeting place for community Organizations and AA Groups. Meeting times are as follows at the Community Center:

  • Monday Evenings - 7:30pm - 9pm - Courage to Change   
  • Thursday Evenings 7:30pm - 8:30pm - Central LA AA Group
  • Friday Afternoons - 12pm - High Noon AA Group
  • Saturday Evenings - 7:30pm Oxford Candlelight AA Group

Food Pantry
Our Food Pantry is also located in the Community Center and is open every *Monday morning from 10:30 am  to 12 noon, providing free groceries to those in need through a partnership with HOPENET. Call (213) 387 5387 for more information.  (*please note, the Food Pantry is closed on all major holidays)

Health Ministry - Free Parish Nurse Services
The community is also served by our health partners, QueensCare Health and Faith Partnership, on Monday mornings at the Community Center from 8:30am to 1pm.  (*please note, the Parish Nurse is closed on all major holidays)

Presentations on various health issues and health screenings are given monthly on Sundays at the congregation and community.

Wilshire Music Academy
The Wilshire Music Academy is a music program that provides musical training and experiences for all ages. Experienced music teachers teach special instruction in violin and piano. Students learn the fundamentals of music and make music using a variety of musical instruments. Enrich you and your family with musical education. Call (213) 387 5387 for more information.
